Bwana Tembo Safari Camp, widely known simply as Tembo Safari Lodge, carries a name that tells its own small story. Bwana Tembo translates from Swahili as Sir Elephant or Master Elephant, a name chosen during the camp’s construction in honor of the elephant herds that regularly visited the site while it was being built.
