Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick Up & Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe or Kampala, meet our company representative, who will brief you about the safari and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will reach in time for check-in; refresh and have an overnight stay.

Day 2: Rhino trekking & Evening Game Drive – Murchison falls National Park

Have breakfast and drive to the sanctuary; the rhino trek will last about 2 to 3 hours. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a private ranch accommodating white rhinos funded by the Rhino Fund International. Interact with the rhino’s caretakers and get an insight into the sanctuary.

After tracking, exit and have lunch and drive further to the Murchison Falls NP in time for an evening game drive to see the wildlife of Murchison like the elephants, Rothschild giraffes, Uganda kobs and impalas.

Connect to your lodge in time for dinner and a night stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise & hike to the top of the falls

After the tasty breakfast at your hotel, meet your driver-guide to set out to the park for an up to 5-hour game drive in the Murchison Falls National Park. Get to see the game in the park, including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, lions, Rothschild giraffes, Uganda kobs, impalas, and hartebeest, among others. Return for lunch.

After lunch and the sun cooling down, you will drive to the Nile for the afternoon launch cruise where you get to view the falls from the bottom this time. Feel the strength of the falls while observing the water animals, such as crocodiles, hippos, and birds along the riverbanks, including cormorants, beater birds, and kingfishers, among others.

After the launch cruise, hike up to the top of the falls, where your driver guide will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel before it gets dark, allowing you to have dinner and enjoy a second night’s stay at the hotel, just like the night before.

Day 4: Drive to Kidepo Valley for an evening game drive.

Wake up to a tasty breakfast and find your packed lunch boxes ready for your drive to Kidepo Valley, where you can enjoy astonishing views of the Acholi plains and the Karamoja region.

Arrive at the park at your accommodation before the gates close and check in for dinner and a night stay in the park.

Lodge options are Kidepo Savannah Lodge for midrange and Apoka Safari Lodge for the luxury option.

Day 5: Kidepo morning game drive and afternoon nature walk

Giraffes

Wake up with the Kidepo sun at your lodge and connect for an early breakfast at the lodge.

Drive to the park for a game drive to enjoy the game the park has to offer, like the elephants, the Cape buffaloes, giraffes, lions, Jackson’s hartebeest, klipspringer, and jackals. The games this park has to offer are in plenty and in breathtaking numbers on good days. Connect back to your lodge for lunch and cool off a bit.

Later in the afternoon, an expert safari guide will join you for your guided nature walk to discover a part of the park on foot and will provide you with his knowledge of the region’s ecosystem and some history. After driving back, wind down the day at your hotel with a sumptuous dinner and second-night stay.

Day 6: Drive to Gulu

Exit Kidepo National Park after breakfast, heading to Gulu. You will drive south of Uganda with an en route lunch. The drive from Kidepo to Gulu is a 5- to 6-hour connection. Arrive at your hotel in Gulu in the evening hours. Check in, have dinner and rest.

Day 7: Drive back to Entebbe / Kampala.

After an early breakfast, check out of your hotel and meet your driver-guide, who will transfer you back to Entebbe. You will have an en route lunch in Masindi and a stopover at Karuma Falls before continuing to Entebbe for your drop-off at the airport or another advised location.
