Then embark on an excursion to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will enjoy great views of animals like Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, lions, leopards, hippos, waterbucks, bushbucks and chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge.
Highlights of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park-boat cruise
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Ishasha sector
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park-Boat cruise on Kazinga channel
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge & afternoon game drive
Day 5: Departure to Enetbbe / Kampala
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park,
Depending on your location, you will be welcomed by our driver guide, who will brief you about the Uganda safari and then start the journey to Lake Mburo national park which is the smallest protected area located in western Uganda.
On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator to buy souvenirs, take photos and then continue the journey to the park where you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch you will go for an interesting boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you will be able to view hippos in water, Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, animals like buffaloes, warthogs, and antelopes drinking water along the shores, water birds, and fishermen who will be organizing their fishing gear for night fishing, among others.
After the boat ride, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Ishasha sector
After an early breakfast, meet up with your driver guide and head out for a morning game drive in the park, where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, zebras, impalas, elands, topis, warthogs, waterbucks, and giraffes, among others, grazing in the open savannah plains.
After the game drive you will drive out of the park to the Ishasha sector, which is situated in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park with en-route lunch on the way.
Upon arrival in the park, you will go for a game drive where you will be able to view the tree-climbing lions if you are lucky and view other animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, topi among others. After the evening game drive, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
Enjoy breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a short game drive where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed the previous day.
After the game drive you will transfer to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth national park and upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch.
Then later, for lunch, embark on an exciting boat cruise along Kazinga channel a water channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake Gorge. During the boat cruise, which takes about 2 hours, you will have stunning views of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water and view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs along the shores, and water birds like hornbills, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and fish eagles, among others.
After the boat cruise you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking & afternoon game drive
After an early breakfast, meet your driver guide and check out of the lodge to transfer to Kyambura gorge for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking.
After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of chimpanzees, which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees slept the previous night.
Once the chimpanzees are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their habitat, where you will be able to observe their behaviors, watch them feed, play, fight, hunt, rest, take photos and record the incredible moments with a flashless camera.

Kyambura Chimps
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the starting point, where you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, and different bird species, among others.
After the game drive you will return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide and transfer to Kampala.
On the way you will have en route lunch and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of convenience.
