Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – visit the top of the Murchison Falls

This is the starting point. Depending on your point of location, our driver guide will come for you and brief you about the tour.

You will then start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park and the traveling journey is gainful as you will be passing through interesting countryside through observing the locals working in their farms. Along the way, you may ask the guide to stop at Luwero market to buy some of the tasty local fruits, which are very fresh and nutritious because they are exposed to direct sunlight.

The moment you reach Nakasongola, you should prepare for a long stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and it’s the only sanctuary in Uganda where a traveler can track rhinos in Uganda.

You will go for Rhino tracking in the company of researchers and game rangers who will share with you all that you need to know about Rhinos. After tracking, transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover in Masindi for lunch en route. After lunch, continue your journey to the park where you will drive to the top of the Murchison Falls. Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

On this day, wake up early, have a heavy breakfast and then prepare for a game drive on the northern side of the Murchison Falls National Park.

 While on a game drive, expect to sightsee animals like giraffes, Uganda kobs, elephants, lions, topi and other antelopes.

Game drive can take about three hours and after that, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. The boat ride on the river Nile is in the afternoon, where you will spot various numbers of animals like herds of elephants bathing in the river, water bucks, bush bucks, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes and countless water birds, among others.

At the bottom of Murchison Falls, you will have a clear view as the Nile River drops 50 meters down from a narrow gorge that produces a thunderous roar. Then after, you should return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Wake up, have early morning breakfast and prepare for the next adventure as you wait for the guide-driver to start the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park.

You will stop in Kitgum to have lunch after proceeding with a drive but with hope of getting amazed with the countryside and landscape as you pass through pockets of diminishing forest, savannah grasslands and water bodies.

Arriving in the evening, check in to your booked safari lodge or choose to sleep in tents; then you will have to visit the park headquarters and check your tents as you prepare for the night game drive. If you opt to do a night game drive in the park, you will have a chance of seeing hunting lions, leopards and night bird species. After your night game drive, you will drive back to your tent for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Game Drive in Narus Valley – Visit the local Karamojong

Wake up early and take breakfast. After embarking, make your way out for the game drive. Game drives in Kidepo take place in the Narus Valley, which is home to the largest concentration of herds of buffaloes in the world and other animals to see include leopards, cheetahs and lions before they go into a secluded area to escape the sun’s heat, as well as cheetahs, wild dogs and Ostriches only seen here, among others.

Game drives also enable travelers to sight other great wildlife such as waterbucks, zebras, jackals, bushbucks, hyenas, Klipspringers, elands, Jackson’s hartebeests, and many more other antelopes. Along your visit to Kidepo, remember to carry a camera and binoculars for a truly impressive birding experience because the park is a birders’ paradise, especially with a large number of Ostriches, secretary birds, Bustards and Karamoja Apalis among others.

After the game drive, you drive back for lunch as you prepare for the next activity.

Later on, you will go for a cultural experience with one of Uganda’s most unique indigenous tribes in Karena and Kapedo. The Karamojong are known as nomadic pastoralists whose lives are centered around their cattle and you visiting the Karamojong people will learn about their ancient culture and their love for their animals. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive – Visit Kanangorok Hot Springs

Wake up to a hearty breakfast and embark for the second game drive in another part of Kidepo to see the missed animals in the first game drive.

You will then go visit Kidepo’s famous hot springs, where you expect to see Ostriches around the area. You can opt to go for a nature walk in the company of a ranger to discover the beautiful landscape of the Kidepo Valley National Park.

After the game drive and nature walk, you will check out of the park and drive to Kitgum, from where you will spend the night. Dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge.

Kanangorok Hot Springs

Day 6: Departure for Kampala

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast as you get ready for your flight schedule back to your home country.

You will start the journey back to Entebbe / Kampala, passing through different districts.
