This 5-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife safari is an adventurous Uganda safari that takes you to the misty forests of Bwindi impenetrable national park in southwestern Uganda, where you will encounter the endangered mountain gorillas.
After connecting to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will be rewarded with great views of abundant wildlife species, including the tree-climbing lions and leopards, large herds of elephants, buffaloes, hippos, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and warthogs, among others, during the boat cruise and game drive.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Upon arrival, you will be met by our company representative, who will brief you about the gorillas and wildlife safari. After embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator, where you will take photos and buy souvenirs and then continue the journey with another stopover at the Igongo cultural center for lunch.
After lunch you will proceed to Bwindi National Park with stunning views of the countryside, beautiful scenery, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands and many others. Upon arrival in Bwindi impenetrable national park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast, carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a Uganda gorilla trekking briefing.
After the briefing you will be subdivided into groups of 8 people, where each group will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with gorilla trekking trails.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the mountain gorillas because they like to move from one place to another in search of food.
During trekking you will enjoy views of other wildlife species, including forest elephants, buffaloes, duikers, other primates like chimpanzees, l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and amonkeys, and a variety of bird species, and view different plant and tree species, among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, lifestyle, and behaviors; watch them feed, play, and breastfeed; groom young ones; and take photos and record videos to show people back home after the safari.
After the interesting one hour with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and later meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay. overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Wake up and enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda.
On the way you will have a stopover at the Ishasha sector, where you will be able to view the tree-climbing lions, which will be lying up in acacia/fig tree branches and other animals like buffaloes, uganda kobs, elephants, and hippos, and view different bird species, among others, during the game drive.
After the game drive you will have en route lunch and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park and upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Morning game drive/lionlion tracking and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast , meet your driver guide and check out of the lodge to go for an adventurous game drive or lion tracking experience in the Kasenyi plains.

Hippos
During the game drive you will be able to view animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, warthogs, predators like lions and leopards, and a variety of bird species, among others.
After the game drive you will drive to Lake Katwe, a Crater Lake where you will interact with the local people that earn a living through extracting rock salt from the Crater Lake and selling it to traders.
Lake Katwe also harbors migratory birds such as flamingos, which are commonly seen during the month of October. After the Crater Lake tour you will return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon Boat cruise,
After lunch you will drive to the landing site near the luxury Mweya safari lodge for an interesting boat cruise on Kazinga channel a water channel that joins Lake George and Lake Edward.
During the scheduled boat cruise, which starts at 2:00pm, you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the beautiful scenery and landscape and view animals like elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, and waterbucks drinking water along the banks at close range; view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water; and view aquatic birds like herons, fish eagles, kingfishers, hornbills, cormorants, and bee-eaters, among others. others.
After the boat cruise, which takes about 2 hours, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala
Today, wake up to a relaxed breakfast after checking out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a short game drive in the park where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive.
After the game ride you will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala. On the way you will have an en route lunch and continue the journey to Kampala, arriving early evening.
Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of convenience.
