Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi national park

 You will be picked up from your hotel, where you spent an overnight, either in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport and embark on a road drive to Bwindi National Park a gorilla trekking experience.

Bwindi national park has the greatest number of habituated mountain gorillas as compared to Volcanoes national park Rwanda and Virunga national park in the DRC.

Well, have a stopover at the equator, where several travelers on a Uganda safari to the western part of Uganda never miss out on a photo-taking session and some experiments.

After visiting the Equator, you will proceed on your journey to Mbarara for Lunch then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable national park direct to the Rushaga sector, where the gorilla habituation experience will take place.

Upon reaching the lodge, surely it will be late in the evening; check in at your booked lodge, enjoy your served dinner and take a rest from a long but really fascinating drive from Kampala via hills, farms and forests.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi

After breakfast, pack enough snacks, drinking water and your lunch box, then meet your safari guide  to transfer you to the park headquarters.

When you get to the park headquarters, you will take part in a briefing session to get into details of the dos and don’ts during the gorilla habituation experience safari.

After the briefing, a group of 4 visitors, alongside armed rangers and the researchers, penetrates deep into Bwindi forest in search of endangered mountain gorillas that are undergoing a habituation experience.

Gorilla Habituation is a full-day adventurous safari that starts in the morning and goes to evening with you following up on the gorillas while they roam the forest in search of fruits to munch on. When you finally get closer to a mountain gorilla family in Bwindi, you will spend 4 hours with them, unlike a gorilla trekking safari, which allows one hour of closer contact.

By the end of the gorilla habituation experience safari in Bwindi, you will indeed be exhausted; thus, return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and grabbing your night sleep.
